Fire & Fondness is a daytime-TV rescue told in tiles. John Gabriel built thirty-five hazardous living rooms between you and the person you came for. Flame throwers sweep on a clock you cannot see until you step. Traps wait like commercials. The crush is always one set piece further away than your last clever idea.

You move a single square, then the stage answers. Space talks to levers, doors, and the rude furniture that only works if you stand in the stupid place first. Backspace is the remote. It undoes a turn so the episode can pretend you never walked into the fire. R starts the scene again when the joke has gone on long enough.

The palette is Dawnbringer bright, the fonts look borrowed from a weather channel, and the tone stays kind even when the floor is not. Early rooms teach you to wait a beat. Later ones stack two cycles and a tap that has to happen on the only safe tile. Getting there is the plot. Hugging the sweetheart is the credit roll.

People stay because fondness is a better motive than a high score. You learn the rhythm of a burner the way you learn a sitcom doorway. One wrong step ends the episode. The next take is already queued.
