βš”οΈ Defblade

0 PLAYS Platformer
Pixel-perfect jumps. One slip, and the stage keeps the change.
Controls:
WASD / Arrow keys: Move and jump
X / J: Attack

Cross the stage, avoid traps, and defeat enemies with your sword.
Be careful with your jumps β€” spikes, lava, and enemies can kill you.
Killing enemies earns money, but dying costs money.
Your money is also your life. If it reaches $0, the game is over.

Tip: Don't rush! Precise jumps and careful movement are the key to survival.
Defblade is a paper-colored precision platformer that also wants you to fight. You parkour over spike pits, lava lakes, toxic slimes, and bats that treat your head as a landing. The jumps are the kind that fail if you leave a pixel early. The sword is there so the room does not stay one-sided.

You start with a thousand dollars in doubloons. Killing something puts money back. Dying takes money away. At zero the run is over, not paused. The bank is the life bar, and it is honest about it. A clean room that still costs two deaths can ruin a later one that you would have cleared on the first try.

The paper-8 palette makes the danger look like a printed toy. It is not. Edges are sharp, landings are small, and explosions are the game's way of saying the last input was almost right. There is no long story and no village to save. Survival is the plot: keep the purse alive long enough to see the next ugly corridor.

It was built from scratch in C++ and SDL2 for a High Seas Hack Club event, first called paper-world, then given a blade. The tone stays homemade and unapologetic. If you came for a gentle stroll, the first lava lake will refund that idea. If you came to count frames with a sword in your hand, the stage will remember every slip β€” and charge you for it.
