Apply physical force to the boat to move and complete missions.
Usage:
Rotate boat left/right to stand upright on water.
Tap Up to move forward. Key is controlling speed so the boat doesn't flip over.
Press C when in contact with water to jump out. The deeper you go, the higher you jump.
Jump movement tip: When sinking after a jump, hold Up to gain thrust, then press C to jump forward with momentum. Enables stable, fast movement.
Left/Right - rotate left/right,
Up - thrust (force from boat rear toward front; follows boat orientation),
Down - reverse (force from boat front toward rear; follows boat orientation)
Space - turn, change boat direction
C - jump (when in contact with water, press to boost boat out; deeper = higher jump),
R/F - zoom in/out
F1 - special info mode,
F2 - FPS view
Menu:
Enter - select,
Arrow keys - menu navigation
Delete or d - delete player slots or recordings
Bloboats is a 2D race in the family of Elasto Mania and X-Moto, except the vehicle is a wet noodle with a hull. Markus Kettunen built it around springy physics and heavy damping, then pointed the poor MS Enterprise at a clock. The goal is not style. The goal is to arrive before your friendโs ghost, or before the boat decides the ceiling is a floor.
Throttle lives at the stern. Steering is a tilt of the whole floppy body. Water is not a road. It is a suggestion you can sink through, then punch out of with C if you are still kissing the surface โ or the deep, if you want height. A gentle tap of Up keeps the nose honest. A held Up while inverted is how you write a new ceiling.
Levels are obstacle grammar: ramps that want a jump, tunnels that want you flat, finish banners that appear after you have already flipped twice. Recordings exist so humiliation can be replayed. Zoom in when the hull is arguing with a pixel. Zoom out when you need to see the next insult.
The pleasure is a clean hop that starts as a sink. Hold thrust on the way down, tap C on contact, and the boat leaves the water like it meant to. Everything else is the physics having a louder opinion than you.
