The stack is rising. The next piece is never the one you asked for.
Controls:
Left / Right Arrow: Move the piece
Up Arrow: Rotate the piece
Down Arrow: Soft drop
Enter / W / Space: Hard drop
Shift: Hold / swap the current piece

Move and rotate falling pieces to complete horizontal lines.
When a line is completely filled, it disappears and the blocks above it fall down.
Clear multiple lines at once for a higher score.
Keep the stack from reaching the top of the screen, or the game is over.

Use the ghost piece to see where the current piece will land.
Use Hold to save a useful piece for later, especially when you need a long bar.
The game gets faster as your level increases, so plan your placements before the pieces start falling too quickly.

Tip: Keep the stack low and build a flat surface whenever possible. Avoid creating holes that are difficult to fill!
This is a falling-block well in the long shadow of Alexey Pajitnov’s original geometry: seven shapes, a rising floor of your own mistakes, and the old dare to make a full line disappear. It is not the trademarked game. It is the habit — an endless well with levels that speed up, a ghost that shows the landing, a next window that lies just enough, and a hold that lets you refuse one bad gift.

A piece enters at the top. You slide it, turn it, drop it softly or slam it. A complete row of blocks leaves the well and everything above it sighs downward. Two lines are a conversation. Four is the well finally agreeing with you. Miss the fill and the stack keeps the story you did not mean to write.

Levels pay more and wait less. The ghost is the honest friend: it draws where this piece will sit if you let go now. The next preview is a rumor you can plan around. Hold / swap parks the current shape and, if the box is empty, deals you the one after. Use it to save a long bar, not to panic-shuffle every spawn.

High scores stay in local storage for the next “last round.” Sound is cooked in the browser. The well does not care that you almost had a clean four. It cares that the next piece is already falling, and it is never the one you asked for.
