Line up 3 or more of the same sushi in a row or column to clear them.
Select the tile you want to move, then select a neighbouring tile to swap the two.
If the swap makes a line of 3 or more, the tiles clear, new tiles fall in from above, and you score points.
If the swap makes nothing, the tiles snap straight back and the board does not change.

Falling tiles can complete another line by themselves, so one good swap can chain into several clears.
Keep clearing to fill the level gauge before the timer runs out, and you move up to the next level.

Tip: Look at the tiles waiting above the line you are about to clear. The best match is the one that sets up the next one, not the first one you spot!
Magic Sushi used to live on MediaTek feature phones, the kind with a keypad and a tiny bright screen, baked into MAUI / MTK OS or built for that same chip. EXL’s port brings the same plates to a browser so a modern machine can host a game that once needed a ROKR in your pocket.

The rule is older than the phones. Swap two neighbors. Three or more of the same sushi in a row or a column leave the board. New pieces fall. A failed swap snaps back as if the counter never moved. The timer does not care that you are lining up something prettier two moves from now.

This is match-three with a lunch-break accent. Nigiri, rolls, and the odd glowing plate are just colors with better manners. Level-ups arrive because the clock ran out of patience with the current grid, not because a story told you so. Mute if the little jingle starts to taste like the office.

People remember it as “that sushi game on the cheap phone,” then discover the grammar is the same as every gem board they pretended to outgrow. The difference is the hurry. The pieces are cute. The bar is not. Clear what you can prove before the kitchen closes.
